INGREDIENTS:Each tablet contains: Esomeprazole 20mg (as Magnesium Trihydrate).
Do not use:- for children under 18 years of age.- if allergic to esomeprazole.- if allergic to any other proton pump inhibitor (omeprazole, rabeprazole, lansoprazole, pantoprazole).- if you are taking antiretroviral medicines, such as atazanavir.- if you are taking cilostazol a medicine used to treat pain and/or cramping in the lower leg (or arms) due to inadequate blood flow to the muscles.- if you are breastfeeding or intend to breastfeed.- -f you are experiencing weight loss, persistent regurgitation of food or vomiting, difficulty swallowing or symptoms of gastro-intestinal bleeding, except on medical advice- if you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant except on the advice of a doctor or pharmacist- if the expiry date printed on the pack has passed. Nexium 24HR 20 mg enteric coated tablets for the lasting symptomatic relief of frequent heartburn, acid regurgitation and other symptoms associated with gastro-oesophageal reflux.
Always take this medicine exactly as described in the Consumer Medicine Information leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist have told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. The recommended dose is one tablet a day. - Do not take more than this recommended dose of one tablet (20 mg) a day, even if you don't feel an improvement immediately. - You may need to take Nexium 24HR for a few days before experiencing the full effect. - Nexium 24HR should be taken for at least 7 days and up to 14 days. - Tell your pharmacist or doctor if you do not feel better while taking Nexium 24HR. If symptoms persist or recur within 2 weeks of completing the course, consult your doctor. Further examination may be required.
Always read the label, use only as directed. Tell your pharmacist or doctor if you notice any of the following and they worry you: nausea or vomiting, constipation, diarrhoea, headache, wind, stomach pain, skin rash, itchy skin, dizziness or dry mouth. These side effects are usually mild. Tell your pharmacist or doctor if you are taking any other medicines, including any that you buy without a prescription from your pharmacy, supermarket or health food shop. Some medicines may interfere with Nexium 24HR. Do not take Nexium 24HR if you are pregnant unless your doctor says so. Ask your doctor about the risks and benefits involved. It is not known if it is safe for you to take Nexium 24HR while you are pregnant. It may affect your baby. Do not take Nexium 24HR if you are breastfeeding. Ask your doctor for more information. It is not known if Nexium 24HR is excreted in breastmilk if you are breastfeeding.
ContraindicationsNexium 24HR is contraindicated for asthmatics,muscle pain, arthritis, sprains or fractures who are also taking antacids or calcium supplements. Stomach upset, bloating, diarrhoea, constipation, headache, or regurgitation are usually mild.owntreatment with Nexium 24HR may result in a secondary bacterial infection such as inflammation of the oesophagus (galerism) and/or increased heart rate. Do not take Nexium 24HR if you are taking St. John's wort (a yeast infection). Stop taking Nexium 24HR and see your doctor if you experience any of the following:

Nexium 24HR may aggravate autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis or ankylosing spondylitis. This could make your skin more sensitive to the effects of this medicine. Your doctor will discuss with you whether this medicine is most suitable for you. Nexium 24HR may also act as a tumor necrosis factor (TNF) reducer if taken with acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin). Stomach upset, bloating, diarrhoea, constipation, headache, or regurgitation are usually mild.owntreatment with Nexium 24HR aren't expected to cause any serious side effects although these symptoms may be increased risk of heart attack and stroke.
Only one tablet is needed every 4 to 6 days (1 capsule per day). The usual dose of Nexium 24HR is one tablet a day. Take it on an empty stomach or for 7 days before experiencing the full effect of the medicine.
